Why Duna utca
A recipe book with no recipes written down.
What you are eating has been in the family for longer than anyone can exactly remember. Great-grandmothers, grandfathers, parents.
Where it started
It began the way most good things do. One kettle over an open fire, a long afternoon, and a little more paprika than the recipe called for.
Made theirs, every time
Each generation added something, changed something, made it theirs. The result is a set of recipes that cannot be found in any cookbook and exist nowhere else in the world.
Names of their own
Two of them turned out so unlike anything else that we gave them names you will not find anywhere else, Bribacsa® and Briboka®.
The neighbourhood
A few minutes from Elisabeth Bridge.
The street is named after the river, and it keeps its word: Duna utca runs straight to the foot of the bridge, where the corso begins. A bowl of goulash near Elisabeth Bridge, then the water at golden hour.
