What we are known for

Goulash. Langosh.
The two that built us.

Two recipes, carried kitchen to kitchen across every location. The bowl and the bread that gave us our name.

Goulash served in a fresh bread bowl

Goulash

Slow-cooked beef and sweet Hungarian paprika, simmered for hours and served in a fresh-baked bread bowl. The one that started it all.

Golden fried langosh

Langosh

Deep-fried fresh to order, crisp and golden, then piled high with garlic, sour cream, and a mountain of cheese. Hungary on a plate.

Parliament, the Basilica, the square, the river: downtown Pest does its sightseeing on foot, and the classic walk passes close to every one of our doors. Five landmarks, each listed with the family kitchen you would reach first.

The Hungarian Parliament

Straight down Nádor utca from Kossuth tér: Terv Presszó is the family's nearest table to Parliament, goulash in a bread bowl at the presszó counter.

Good To Know

Questions, answered.

All seven Goulash and Langosh kitchens sit in the heart of District V, downtown Budapest, a short walk from St. Stephen's Basilica, Vörösmarty tér, and Ferenciek tere. Our flagship on Duna utca sits right by the river.
Goulash is Hungary's famous slow-cooked beef and paprika soup, served here in a fresh bread bowl. Langosh is a deep-fried flatbread, crisp and golden, piled with garlic, sour cream, and cheese. They are the two dishes we are named for.
All seven kitchens are open seven days a week, all year round. Two of them open at 7am, the rest from late morning or midday, and every one serves until 11pm at the earliest, several to midnight. Each restaurant lists its exact hours on its own site.
You can book, but you never have to. We do get busy, but there is usually a table, and when there is not, the wait is short. If you are 20 or more, a quick call ahead helps us put everyone at one table: +36 70 556 5035.
Yes. Several langosh and sides are vegetarian. As recipes vary by kitchen, please ask our staff about allergens and we will guide you.
Absolutely. With seven central locations we regularly host large groups, stag and hen parties, and tour groups. Tell us your numbers on our locations page and we will find the right room.
Yes. Big match nights and the moments the whole city is watching run on the screens at our locations across downtown. See what is on in Budapest before you come.
The original Goulash & Langosh Bar on Duna utca, steps from the Danube, is our flagship, where the very first family bowl was served.
